What is Stereolithography (SLA) 3D Printing?

SLA (Stereolithography) is an additive manufacturing technology that uses UV laser as an energy source to cure liquid photosensitive resin layer by layer. Through selective laser scanning, resin undergoes polymerization in specific areas to rapidly produce solid parts with high precision and intricate details.

Without relying on fixtures, this technology can directly produce complex structures that are difficult to achieve with traditional processes. It is widely used in aerospace structural components, medical implant prototypes, precision molds, and other scenarios, making it a key technology in high-end manufacturing.

3D Printing Surface Finish Options

Finish LevelProcess DescriptionApplication Scenarios
UnfinishedDots or standing "nibs" from support structure remnants remain visible on the bottom of the part, with no additional surface treatment.Ideal for functional validation prototypes, cost-sensitive projects, or scenarios requiring extreme lead-time efficiency.
NaturalSupported surfaces are sanded to eliminate support nibs, while original print layer lines are retained.Suitable for functional parts where support impact must be removed, but layer lines are acceptable, balancing efficiency and appearance.
StandardAfter sanding supported areas, the entire part is finely blasted to achieve a uniform matte finish; layer lines remain visible but with significantly improved visual consistency.Ideal for most industrial scenarios, balancing appearance consistency and cost efficiency.
CustomOffers soft-touch paint, clear optical coating, precision painting, masking, color matching, graphic/decal application, and texture molding to meet high-end aesthetic and functional requirements.Suitable for end-use products, medical devices, consumer electronics, and other scenarios demanding superior surface texture and visual effects.
